Mainland Engagement
We provide a breeding ground for nascent entrepreneurs who aspire to become the global leaders of tomorrow and create a positive impact on the world.
Entrepreneurship Centre cultivates student entrepreneurship by providing non-credit bearing activities to foster an entrepreneurial campus and cultivate a risk-taking value-creation mindset. Through direct engagement with the HKUST students, alumni, faculty and staff, EC strive to nurture next-generation entrepreneurs whose companies make commercial, social, or cultural impacts for the economic and social development of Hong Kong and other regions.
Office of Knowledge Transfer identifies collaboration opportunities, recognizes technology with commercialization potential, manages intellectual properties and pursue university-industry collaboration, entrepreneurship and technology commercialization.
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology R and D Corporation Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of HKUST and serves as the vehicle for commercialization and exploitation of the research conducted at HKUST.
HKUST Connect aims to serve as an interface between HKUST and the community in developing service partnerships that will bring lasting positive impact to our community at large.
Currently there are many Technologies & Entrepreneurship funding initiatives that support translational research, commercialization, technology transfer and entrepreneurship over various stages targeting HKUST faculty, staff, students, and/or alumni, amounting to over HK$ 50 million in funding annually. These Technologies & Entrepreneurship funding initiatives supported by different funding sponsors (HKUST, UGC, Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC), external funding sponsors/donors) are administered by OKT, EC, and RDC(HK), depending on the nature of initiatives, target groups, and objectives of different funding initiatives.
