The innovative SANI process was inventedto conserve fresh water by treating sewage with seawater. This was found to effectively remove organics and nitrogen from the Sludge. Initial processing using SANI report a 70% reduction of sludge compared to existing processes. The SANI process is limited to coastal cities for now, but a modified process, the RC-SANI process, is currently being developed for use inland.
